$80 is probably a bit higher than I'd like to pay for Hibiki in an ideal world, but scotch and Irish whiskies have also gotten quite a bit more expensive in the last few years. I think you would be doing fine to pick it up and try it, if you are intrigued by the idea of trying whiskies distilled in Japan. I've recently been sussing out the behaviors of echo in various shells, I think it important to note the differences in echo across the carious I'm running macOS 12.0.1 and Jamf 10.33.0 if that might have something to do with it. When I run it from a policy in Jamf the line breaks don't come through, and it shows "\n" for the breaks. to add two line breaks between paragraphs" "Understood" "Alert" When I run the command from a local script./test.sh null null null "Warning" "" "Long bit of text with "$jhPath" -windowType utility -title "$Title" -heading "$Head" -alignHeading center -description "$msg" -button1 "$7" -icon "$Icon" Icon="/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/AlertStopIcon.icns" Icon="/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/AlertNoteIcon.icns" Icon="/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/AlertCautionIcon.icns" Icon="/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/Actions.icns" but now the new lines aren't registering. I'm sure this worked when I first setup my script. See the following test script below for how to make it work: #!/bin/shĬurious. You just have to know how to get the script to recognize it. You might also need to do a quick if/then check to make sure both parameters are assigned before setting the $Msg variable, or set it appropriately if only $Desc1 is actually assigned, for but actually you can make the \n work in the script. Not as nice as being able to enter it directly into the JSS policy in one field, but it works (as long as you don't require a 3rd line or something) In my super quick test just now, I was able to pass 2 separate parameters to it that combined into one description for the message, with a break in the lines between them. "$jhPath" -windowType utility -title "$Title" -description "$Msg" -button1 "OK" -icon "$Icon" In your actual script that displays the message, do something like this: #!/bin/sh Set up 2 parameters (in addition to any others you need) for your script and when its in the JSS. So, just thinking this through on one side of my brain as I do other things, I think the following may work, though its kind of crude. Just thought I'd mention that in case you run into the same thing. Trying to escape the quotes like "quoted text" failed, but doing "Quoted text" directly in the parameter field worked fine. Same if I wanted to quote some text in the message. It was the opposite when using a direct jamf runScript call. In doing some tests with the above example, I found I didn't need to have an escaped new character in the parameter, such as \n. The command 'sudo jamf runScript -script "ScriptName.sh" -path, etc seems to handle line breaks and other escaped stuff differently than when passing a parameter to a script from a policy. You can add as many as you like in one parameter, and it also doesn't use more than one parameter in the policy.Īs for getting html messages with formatting and background images, etc, sorry, can't help you there )Įdit: Quick additional note. It also doesn't matter how many lines you need. The cool thing about this is its pretty flexible because if your message doesn't have any line break characters in it, it doesn't matter. I can even do this in the message to get a blank line between: This is line 1.\ I just ran this through a quick test and setting up $4 with the line: "This is the first line of the message.\Īctually gave me something like this in the jamfHelper window. I haven't tested it, but I think using printf may also do the trick here. This works because echo will recognize the newline character, \n, and translate it into actual line breaks as it sets up the final message variable to pass into jamfHelper. The trick above is to use 'echo' to set up a new variable from the one passed in the parameter. Sudo "$jhPath" -windowType utility -title "My Title" -description "$MSG" -button1 "OK" -defaultButton 1 # The new message variable passed to jamfHelper # Description passed in from parameter set in the policy JhPath="/Library/Application Support/JAMF/bin/jamfHelper.app/Contents/MacOS/jamfHelper" See the following test script below for how to make it work: #!/bin/sh But actually you can make the \n work in the script. The Elise performs poorly in Team Escape and Pursuit Outrun, as its light chassis cannot sustain being rammed, especially in head-on collisions with Rhino SUVs.This game is the most infamous racing game of the 2000s if not of all time. It is best used in race tracks with a series of consecutive corners to outmatch less agile and heavier cars. Its acceleration can be significantly improved with these upgrades for better performance on straight roads and to allow it to keep up with more powerful and heavier class A cars. The Elise can be made to a competitive class A car, if the player installs pro series performance parts or better. The Elise can turn better than the Lotus Exige Cup 260, but feels twitchy at low speeds. Its steering responsiveness was significantly improved as well. Since the Augpatch, the Elise received a better acceleration and a higher top speed of 157 mph (253 km/h) at the cost of its previously decently performing nitrous boost. Acceleration is underwhelming compared to cars with a higher H.A.T. It is one of the best handling tier cars in the game, as evident by a very high handling rating and superb steering precision, which makes high-speed turning in almost every type of corner possible. Since August 22, 2012, it has been featured as a B class vehicle. The Elise was made available in Need for Speed: World during the Taiwan restricted test session on Octoas a tier 2 car. Top speed-wise, it may not be up to par with stronger cars though. It is especially recommended for players who need a quick sports car that is easy to control. It has stellar steering, which makes high-speed cornering without any difficulties possible. With a low weight and a decent amount of power, it is one of the best choices for any race course. It is unlocked upon accumulating 30 stars and capable of a Works upgrade. The Elise appears in Need for Speed: Shift as a tier 2 vehicle with a price tag of $60,000 and a performance rating of 5.10. It appears in the PlayStation 2 and Wii releases with a price tag of $40,000. The top speed of it is one of the worst within its tier, however, this flaw is compensated with great high-speed stability and superb cornering ability. Its handling is very responsive and immediate, its acceleration is on par with other cars. The Elise appears in Need for Speed: Undercover as a tier 4 vehicle that can be purchased for $42,500. Once the player car has upgraded it with high level performance parts, it is capable of drag times lower than eight seconds. It performs in other race types such as in Drift well, too, but has a low top speed and is not suitable for Speed Challenges. It has direct steering and decent acceleration, thus it's strongly recommended for any circuit race event with technical corners and vertices. The Elise appears in Need for Speed: ProStreet and is unlocked upon dominating the Showdown: Chicago race day with a price of $46,000 in the car lot. It is unlocked upon beating Steve and can be purchased for $45,000. The Elise appears in Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City. It is particularly useful for routes with tight corners, but should not be used in pursuits as its mass isn't sufficient for ramming police vehicles. The acceleration is on par with any vehicle within its range, making t a very competitive car in every race type. It is a light car and possesses very responsive handling, although it has a low top speed rating and has the second-smallest engine, meaning it can easily be outpaced by bigger and heavier cars. The Elise appears in Need for Speed: Most Wanted. 1.3 Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City.1.1.4 Challenge Series (Pursuit Length). I couldn't do either of these as part of our standard deployment process. JCC dies with an error if it's not explicitly disabled or the patch applies. The version of setuptools on our servers doesn't support JCC's shared library mode. This means that it needs to be recompiled for each platform, so I couldn't just distribute a binary blob with the Intranet (I had the same problem with DocToText above). The wrapper is written using JCC, which works by generating and compiling C++ code that links to the Java classes, and then a Python wrapper around that C++. I was able to go further than this, and package Tika in a way that makes it easy to install with Pip, and thus integrate with our deployment process. I was unable to register for an account to update that page, so I wrote to the author with the details that I discovered, and will also document here that the following command works for me: The instructions are somewhat outdated at the time of writing, as they refer to Tika version 0.7, while 1.0 has been released. Unfortunately the installation process is very non-standard, which would not fit in with our fabric-based automated deployment process, and would make it harder for users to install the Intranet themselves. Luckily I found some instructions for building a Python wrapper around Tika, using some tools that I'd never heard of, and this seemed like a good approach. However, it introduces a new problem: it's written in Java, which is hard to access from Python. It appears to support all the document formats that we need, and to have auto-detection of the document format, which solves all the MIME type problems as well. The choice of which tool to use depends on the MIME type returned by the file(1) command, which varies depending on the OS (Debian/Ubuntu or CentOS) and which version of the library is installedĪnother Stack Overflow post recommended Apache Tika for metadata extraction. These solutions did not extract metadata, only document text.I was unable to find any Python or command-line solution for old Excel (XLS) files. There were a number of problems with this hodgepodge: This ended up with a hodgepodge of tools: I found various tools online to help extract this text, largely thanks to Stack Overflow here and here. and the new XML equivalents, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX.Microsoft Office DOC, XLS and PPT files.Content indexing in Django using Apache Tikaįor the Documents module of our new open-source Generic Intranet, we need to be able to extract the text content and metadata from various kinds of documents: A separate boxing room complete with hanging punching bags and gloves is also available.
